Harvest Energy Trust's (HTE) 115,000-barrel-a-day Newfoundland, Canada refinery was unaffected by the passing of Hurricane Bill, a spokeswoman from the refinery said Monday.

High winds resulting from Bill were experienced at the Come By Chance oil refinery but operations were not impacted, she said.

Friday, Harvest Energy said the plant was running at almost full utilization.

Hurricane Bill - the first hurricane of the 2009 Atlantic storm season - made landfall Monday in Newfoundland, Canada's easternmost province as a Category One hurricane, the U.S. National Hurricane Center said. It was later downgraded to a storm and lost its tropical characteristics, the NHC said.
