Toshiba Corp. (6502.TO) said Monday that its Indian unit has received an order worth around $470 million for three steam turbines and generators from an Indian state-owned energy company.

The Japanese company said in a press release that Chennai-based Toshiba JSW Turbine and Generator Pvt. will supply three 800MW steam turbines and generators to NTPC Limited, India's largest state-owned energy service provider, for the Kudgi Super Thermal Power Project in Karnataka state.

Delivery of the equipment is expected to start in 2013, the press release said.
