U.K.-registered oil company Genel Energy PLC (GENL.LN) said Monday the output at its Taq Taq oil field in Iraqi Kurdistan is expected to hit 200,000 barrels a day in 2014, up from current 100,000 barrels a day.

Tony Hayward, the firm's CEO, also said Turkish oil giant Genel, which incorporated former BP PLC (BP) chief executive's joint venture company Vallares in late 2011, has invested $2.5 billion since it started work in Iraqi Kurdistan in 2002.

Output from Kurdistan's Tawke field, which Genel is developing along with Norway's DNO International A/S (DNO.OS), is expected to reach 100,000 barrels a day by the end of 2012, from some 50,000 barrels a day now, Hayward also told an Iraqi energy conference in London.
