Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko said Wednesday that Ukraine has paid Russia in full for gas pumped into its storage facilities in July, the RIA Novosti news agency reports.
"Today - I stress ahead of schedule - the government has paid for Russian natural gas pumped into storage tanks in Ukraine. We have transferred $605 million and have paid in full," Tymoshenko is quoted as saying.
Russia's OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) has so far not confirmed receipt of the funds.
