Electricite de France S.A. (EDF.FR) may sell a 20% stake in British Energy, the nuclear power station operator, after the sale last May of a 20% stake to Centrica PLC (CNA.LN), according to La Tribune on Monday, without citing specific sources.

If it finds a buyer for the 20% stake, EDF would still have a majority holding in British Energy, the newspaper said. With a sale at British Energy, EDF could avoid the need to sell a stake in RTE, its French power grid operator, the newspaper said.

EDF is also winding up details of an agreement with Germany's E.ON AG (EONGY) on a swap of assets, the newspaper said.
