Kazakh Minister of Oil and Gas Sauat Mynbayev and Russian Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology Yuri Trutnev have signed an agreement on joint activities on geological study and prospecting of the Imashevsky trans-border gas and gas condensate field.

As the Kazakh minister noted, “it will be the first object to be developed on the territory of two states.”

The gas field is situated at the junction of Russia’s Astrakhan and Kazakhstan’s Atyrausk Regions. Its reserves are estimated at 128.7 bullion cubic meters of gas and 20.7 million tons of gas condensate.
