A EUR 395m gas interconnector between Hungary and Croatia was put into operation on Thursday, Hungarian Deputy Prime Minister Tibor Navracsics said after talks with Croatian Prime Minister Jadranka Kosor in Zagreb.

Plinarco was the Croatian partner in the project, contributing EUR 75m to the construction of the pipeline. FGSZ Foldgazszallito was the Hungarian partner.

The interconnector is not only in the interest of Hungary and Croatia but of all of Central Europe, Mr Navracsics said.
