Herman Van Rompuy, president of the European Council, said European leaders
will also discuss the catastrophe at their March 24-25 summit.
"The energy ministers will meet next Monday to discuss the consequences
for the energy sector and market and the response we can give," Van Rompuy
said.
On Tuesday, Energy Commissioner Guenther Oettinger gathered nuclear industry
experts and some ministers for a fact-finding meeting. They agreed to organize
a safety review of the bloc's nuclear facilities.
