World Bank Approves Loan for FYROMs Power Transmission System Operator

The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors approved on Monday US$19.1 Million of additional financing for the Energy Infrastructure Improvement Project, as part of the broader Energy Community of South East Europe Project, aims to support the functioning of FYR Macedonian Power Transmission System Operator (MEPSO) in the context of the regional power market.
The World Bank’s Board of Executive Directors approved on Monday US$19.1 Million of additional financing for the Energy Infrastructure Improvement Project, as part of the broader Energy Community of South East Europe Project, aims to support the functioning of FYR Macedonian Power Transmission System Operator (MEPSO) in the context of the regional power market. 
This will be done by financing investments necessary to rehabilitate and upgrade the power transmission network; increasing the level of interconnection with neighboring power systems; and strengthen the institutional capacity of AD MEPSO.
