Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin Wednesday criticized U.S. monetary
policy, calling it "hooliganism."
"We see that everything is not so good for our friends in the
States," Putin told lawmakers in the lower house of parliament. "Look
at their trade balance, their debt, and budget. They turn on the printing press
and flood the world with dollars," he said.
"We don't have the luxury for such hooliganism," he added.
Earlier Wednesday, Putin said that the decision by Standard & Poor's Corp.
to lower the
U.S.
debt
outlook was negative for the global economy.
