French utility giant GDf Suez SA (GSZ.FR) Monday said it signed a contract
to supply 2.5 million liquefied natural gas, or LNG, to
Malaysia
state-owned oil
and gas firm Petrolian Nasional Bhd, also known as Petronas, over a period of 3
years and six months.
MAIN FACTS:
- GDF Suez will start delivering the gas in August 2012.
- GDF SUEZ is one of the few European utilities able to direct LNG volumes
to the Asian markets.
- GDF SUEZ has a diversified portfolio of LNG supplies from
Algeria
,
Egypt
,
Nigeria
,
Norway
,
Trinidad and Tobago
and
Yemen
, representing 16.5 MTPA.
- The
company didn't say how much it will receive from the gas sales to Petronas.
