IEA Executive Director Nobuo Tanaka said
Germany
's
decision could affect the energy security and sustainability of the whole of
Europe
and
as such should be discussed within the EU.
"Because
Germany
is
interconnected to other European countries so its decision has an implication
for other players around," he said. The IEA thinks that
Germany
can
make any decision but it should be taken within the framework of the EU, he
added.
