Sales from Iraqi crude oil exports in May totaled $7.47 billion, the
highest monthly revenue registered since
Iraq
started exporting its oil decades ago, the Iraqi oil ministry said in a
statement Wednesday.
The ministry said
Iraq
, a
founding member of the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, sold its
crude oil in May at an average price of $108.261 a barrel, compared with
$114.36 a barrel in April.
Iraq
's oil
revenue in April stood at $7.34 billion, the ministry said.
It said that
Iraq
exported an average of 2.225 million barrels a day in May, compared with 2.140
million barrels a day in April.
Iraq
's oil
revenue for the first five months of this year totaled $34.122 billion barrels
a day. Total
Iraqi oil revenue in 2010 hit $52.2 billion.
