The Bulgarian arms of power utilities CEZ, E.ON and EVN will unbundle power supply and distribution operations by the start of 2012 within a larger-scale business restructuring, the chairman of the State Energy and Waters Regulatory Commission (SEWRC), Angel Semerdjiev, said on August 30 2011 reports Sofia Echo.

The companies will also separate outsourced services but the new business modes are yet to evolve as each company has its own vision and approach to the restructuring, the official said.

"The restructuring is closely linked with corporate development that follows market trends as well as changes in the regulatory framework and the requirements of the energy watchdog. However, the restructuring is at its planning and analysis stage, so we cannot give specific parameters," EVN told Dnevnik.

Bulgaria's other two power distributors could not be reached for comment before Dnevnik went to press
