Turkeys Daily Power Consumption Up 19.9% on May 17

Turkey's daily electricity consumption increased by 19.9% on Monday compared to the previous day to reach 809,384 megawatt-hours, according to official figures of the Turkish Electricity Transmission Corporation (TEIAS) on Tuesday

 

Hourly power consumption peaked at 15.00 local time, reaching 39,122 megawatt-hours, data from TEIAS showed. The country's electricity usage dropped to its lowest level of 25,105 megawatt-hours at 07.00 local time.

Electricity production amounted to 814,669 megawatt-hours on Monday, marking a 19.9% increase from Sunday.

Turkey's electricity production from natural gas plants constituted 28.9% of total electricity consumption, hydroelectricity plants comprised 17.7%, while imported coal plants held a 14.4% share.

On Monday, Turkey's electricity exports amounted to 8,159 megawatt-hours, while imports totaled 2,919 megawatt-hours.
