Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Timoshenko said Wednesday her country will pay Russia for natural gas deliveries in full and on time.

Ukraine will pay "accurately, successfully and on time," she said, according to her official Web site.

Russian officials, including Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, have repeatedly expressed doubts crisis-striken Ukraine would be able to pay for gas.

Ukraine, whose economy shed 20.3% in the first quarter 2009, has been seeking $4.2 billion to pay for Russian gas stored in Ukraine during the summer and used in the winter to meet European demand.

Ukraine has pay its June gas bill to Russian gas monoploy OAO Gazprom (GAZP.RS) by July 7.
