French utility GDF Suez (GSZ.FR) Friday confirmed the end of strike protests at its French liquefied natural gas terminals, saying staff at Fos-sur-Mer are now able to unload the first of two cargoes that had been waiting.

GDF Suez has come to an agreement with workers at Fos and Montoir to end the strike which began Thursday, a spokeswoman for the company said. She declined to elaborate.

The AFP reported Friday that workers had gone back to work after obtaining a EUR1,300 bonus and salary increases.

Officials from the CGT and Sud Energie unions didn't immediately return requests for information on the terms of the agreement with GDF Suez.

Striking workers also were protesting the stock options GDF Suez's two top executives were due to receive, before the company said later Thursday the two would give up their options for 2008.
